Summary
What does this car say about you?
I have more money than sense, felt ashamed to own it looking back now.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
If he can afford that he can afford to pay for the meal tonight! Although more understated than most of the school run rivals still very much part of the club.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Difficult to say. I like the understatement and comfort, but reliability and running costs are not worth it. Potential for HUGE bills. Disappointing for VW.
What are you likely to buy next?
I wont replace it but would consider Landcruiser/pathfnder/patrol/XC90.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Didn't buy from a dealer
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£9,000
When did you buy the car?
January 2013
Did you get a good deal and why?
Ex dealer / demo so had all the options including rear DVD, built in aircompressor for tyres, twin battery, spare wheel carrier, etc etc all for 9k!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
For the engine, and the cockpit! Looks like a 747 at night!
What was the dealer like?

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Average. Disappointed as i get the same feel from my XC60 yet for half the fuel cost. V10 sounded better but not worth the 20mpg average economy (downhill with a tailwind) but be careful becuase before you know it you may well be doing more mph than you think!
What's it like to park?
Tilt down wing mirrors are a nice touch, intuative parking sensor system - when it worked.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No, but things were starting to go wrong, water in oil, headlamp washer, keyless start and then the price for general wear and tear items - front brakes needed new pads and discs... £480 just for parts! Can you imagine what two turbos would cost?
What's most practical about your car?
Nothing really that you cant get in any other car. Boot space was pretty average, full time 4wd meant it handled pretty well in any terrain and condition.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Keyless entry and start, difflocks, air suspension, adaptable shocks, cruise control, and twin bettery system.
