Economy
Value
Expensive compared to rivals, but offered so much more than Zafira (kit & quality). 7 seat Scenic not out when we were shopping so can't compare.
Costs
No servicing so far. MPG was poor (37mpg), but now run in averages 43mpg, with 48 possible with more gentle acceleration (Tdi is very swift anyway).

Driving
Not as much fun as my old Scenic, but very solid and secure. Grips/handles/steers like a well sorted hatch (my other car is an MX5 as a benchmark).
Performance
Excellent - spent a week 7 up in Cornwall and still had power in reserve. Engine is very quiet - just slight diesel rattle on tickover.

Reliability
Car delivered 15:30, by 21:00 was broken down on the A50. Car had been dumping its oil until there was none left!! A catalogue of other niggling faults. I'm awaiting a complete replacement car! Never had a VW before, and this is not a good start!
Image
Sensible, but quality, mini MPV (but a bit of Q car because of performance).
Comfort
Seats seem very comfortable (typically German - i.e. hard). Have had a few twinges on long journeys, but I have a bad back anyway. Had 7 adults in the car for 1 - 2 hours with no complaints, although 3rd row slightly cramped.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks. Front, side & curtain airbags plus traction/stability control.
Service
Support from dealer very poor and VW Assist/Customer Care not much better. I'm awaiting some compensation for all my troubles!
