Economy
Value
Initially pricey to buy, but compared to the Zafira it just feels better
Costs
Haven't serviced it yet, but looks to be reasonable. Just completed 500 mile trip 5up + luggage averaged approx 40mpg, probably could have increased that by descreasing the motorway speeds a bit.

On the road
Driving
Pleasant to drive, refined and quiet. Excellent motorway cruiser. Wide windscreen pillars can cause a problem when turning from side roads.
Performance
No slouch, excellent torque for overtaking. Even when cruising in sixth, it will still accelerate
-
Living with it
Reliability
Only problem was a door locking control unit, a common fault soon fixed at the nearest dealer who were friendly and efficient
Image
The best bit is the VW badge, most people have never heard of it and probably have never noticed one as the are so ordinary. Hard to hate, but hard to love also. An excellent vehicle hidden in a drab exterior. Discreet would be the kindest thing to say
Comfort
Front seats excellent, adjustable in all directions. Middle seats afford good legroom and independantly slide back and forwards. Third row of seats for children or smaller adults only. An occasional 7 seater as limited boot space when seats up

Security and Service
Security
Alarm & immobiliser for theft protection. 5* Euro NCAP for passenger protection for peace of mind, airbags everywhere and everything feels really solid.
Service
Very good
