Summary
What does this car say about you?
I have a Family.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Family/Friends all like the car, and like the space and practicality it offers.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, being Volkswagen the build quality is excellent. Boot/Cabin Space in my view is far superior to others in its class - we couldn't find another vehicle that allowed us to put the buggy lengthways across the boot, therefore maximising space for other items.
What are you likely to buy next?
Another Touran.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
Yes
What price did you pay?
£0
When did you buy the car?
September 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Managed to take advantage of the VW £1500 off offer, which, when I came to sign on the dotted line, meant that that options I'd loaded on it were minimal cost to me - result!
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
Needed a family wagon.
What was the dealer like?
Very good, in process of ordering another vehicle from them - same salesman.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Not bad, doesn't handle too badly. Being based on the Golf underpinnings, it really does drive well for the size it is. Remember, this is a family wagon, not one for throwing in to the corners.
What's it like to park?
Simple! The power steering automatically goes into "town mode" at low speed, giving far lighter steering. My wife drives this car the most, and she really finds it simple to park, especially since she changed from a small hatchback to this.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
No
What's most practical about your car?
Space Space Space - being the 7 seat version (you can get this as a 5 seat, but it costs you money) we have plenty of scope for passengers. I'm 6ft tall, and some cars I find difficult to sit in the back of. On the test drive, I purposely set the driver's seat for my comfort, which is generally quite far back, and then managed to comfortably get in the back seat behind it. ISOFix child seat is a great thing for our wee one.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Cruise and the Bluemotion Tech. Being told when and what gear you are in really changes your driving style for the better, and on the longer runs, cruise control is very useful. I miss both in our other car, but have found myself transferring the gear change habits to our other car resulting in better (from already good) mpg.
