Volkswagen Touran 2.0 TDI SE Family 5d DSG Owner Review

In their own words
After a brief period with a T-Roc (my review has been left). Faith has been restored in VW cars. Comfort seat is a big improvement and the ride is smooth and quiet on the standard 16” alloys. The standard panoramic sunroof really lifts the cabin but remember to switch off the cabin voice enhancer when you open it, unless you are a fan of white noise!
I’m not a fan of touch screen radios and finger marks can obscure the display on sunny days. It works ok otherwise. Built in Sat Nav not a patch on a TomTom though.
The DSG gear box is adds to the relaxed feel on a cruise and the sport mode does sharpen up the response when needed and 110ps engine is adequate for my use but would likely struggle with all 7 seats occupied.
Auto stop start however does not work terribly well with DSG giving a feeling of the car stalling in traffic. Switch it off before starting the journey and normal driving is restored.
The huge boot is (with 3rd seat row folded down) is useful with a much lower load hight than an SUV. The plastics in here scuff easily thought. Check you can manage the big tailgate through - it’s reassuringly tough to protect rear occupants but therefore heavy.
All in all a good car with some technology that is not there yet.
