Volvo 440 2.0 S 5d (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
The value has been pretty exceptional.
Costs
Parts are expensive, especially for bespoke parts, but they really do last.
-
On the road
Driving
My car has front and rear anti-roll bars and corners with poise.
Performance
Goes as well as the turbo version (which I had before this). But with the advantage of no expensive turbo to service/repair.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Only the clutch has failed me and this was probably due to the previous owner towing things.
Image
Image considered old by some people, but later cars with new bonnets etc (like this one) look more purposeful and upmarket.
Comfort
Very comfortable and no aches or pains on long jounrneys (excellent heated seats).
-
Security and Service
Security
Factory fit alarm and immobiliser, both effective.
Service
Haven't used main dealers much, but any contact with Volvo has proved fruitful and conducted politely.
