Volvo 480 2.0 ES 3d (1993/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A lot of quality car, for little money.
Costs
Excellent fuel economy for a 2-litre car. Parts and servicing can be expensive at the dealers. Find a good Volvo specialist.

On the road
Driving
A really nice car to drive. Tidy handling and good grip. Front wheels struggle to get the power down on wet roads, though.
Performance
Great low range torque from the 2.0 motor. Excellent turn of speed when overtaking. Never disappoints.

Living with it
Reliability
Generally very good. Problems seem to be small niggles, as opposed to major failures.
Image
Dare to be different. The 480 is set to be a future classic as a result of its 'daring' styling. I always maintain if a design is either loved or hated in equal measures by different people, then the car is half way to securing its place in history.
Comfort
Seats are excellent, driving position is infinitely adjustable.

Security and Service
Security
Immobiliser and good locks should deter the opportunist thief.
Service
Great service, but ask the price first if you don't want a shock later!
