Volvo 850 Estate 2.0 SE (143bhp) 5d (1993/L) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
An ex-fleet purchase nearly five years ago with full service history and 140,000 miles on the clock.
Costs
Had to replace cam sensor and wheel bearing, but lots of outlets at almost 50% off dealer prices.

On the road
Driving
Plucky 20-valve engine. A real comfort machine. Pretty taut on the suspension side when pushed.
Performance
Will accelerate surprisingly well for a big car, will drive happily around town or cruise on the motorway.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Regular servicing a must, but a sound car.
Image
Protects the family and carries our stuff. It is a Volvo, so that's image enough!
Comfort
Big comfy seats, easily adjustable. Like having your sofa in your car!
-
Security and Service
Security
Never broken into or nicked.
Service
The local garage had more idea on how to look after the car than the dealer.
