Volvo 850 Estate 2.3 T5 Turbo 5d Auto (95) (1995/M) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Very good if you consider my particular T5 was over £30,000 new, but the market is not as good as it was.
Costs
Parts pricey, Servicing ok, Insurance very good, especially for a 21 year old! Poor economy, expect 20-23 mpg with normal driving plus the odd boot.

On the road
Driving
Fantastic, solid, poised and very confidence inspiring once you're used to it's size. Mine has the factory sports suspension so slightly lower then standard and corners surprisingly well.
Performance
Not quite as fast as people make out, especially compared to more modern cars but very quick off the mark and really grin inducing torquey acceleration. Autos run out of puff at 120+ but you shouldn't be going that fast anyway!

Living with it
Reliability
Good if looked after but there is lots to go wrong, service history a big must.
Image
Not bad but some are looking rough now, cared for models inoffensive and a vast improvement on older Volvos!
Comfort
Driving position excellent with everything to hand, seats for adults in perfect comfort. Ride a bit harsh but very very smooth on a good road.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm and Immobiliser common on the T5 but I don't think they we're standard.
