Volvo 850 Estate 2.5 CD (170bhp) 5d Auto (1996/P) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Fantastic value for money, everything you could possibly want in a car, and all for less than 6 grand. German build quality, for rock bottom prices.
Costs
Reasonable to service, though mpg can drop to 17.2mpg if driven hard.

On the road
Driving
Very nippy, good handling, though maybe a bit light.
Performance
Mine has optional alloys, from the t5, so does 0-60 in 8.6secs. Fantastic at overtaking, and the noise at 5,500rpm is something else.

Living with it
Reliability
starts evrytime, first time.
Image
it's a family saloon with a lot of kick when wanted, better than other large estates on the market. looks will definately gow on you.
Comfort
Can cruise in it relaxed, I'm yet to do a trip in it to Switzerland. Seats are supportive, lumber support great. You have fantastic control over seat positioning, with 3 memory settings.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm, deadlocks, immobiliser. Anyway, who's going to nick a Volvo?
Service
haven't used an official dealer yet.
