Volvo 850 Saloon 2.0 GLT (143bhp) 4d (1993/L) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Excellent used price. Lots of car for not much money.
Costs
Very thirsty around town. 20 valves means revs need to be high to keep up with traffic. which results in awful consumption.

On the road
Driving
Handles well, but more power needed around town. Cruises well though.
Performance
Sluggish. Impossible to overtake on country roads. T5 for me next, I think.

Living with it
Reliability
Only problem is an intermittent cut out after filling up. Only on 87,000 miles though.
Image
Looks dated now but who cares? Look at all the equipment you get!
Comfort
Excellent seat and wheel adjustment. Comfort for everyone, large and small.

Security and Service
Security
Touch wood it's never been tested. Who'd wanna nick an old Volvo anyway?
Service
Wouldn't know. Have done my own servicing. Appears to be some keen specialist independents though.
