Volvo 850 Saloon 2.5 (140bhp) 4d (1995/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
A lot of car, with all the gizmos.
Costs
I was shocked - 30,000 mile service for less than £120!! Full service at 80,000 miles for around £380.
-
On the road
Driving
Front wheel drive curves the 'throwability' but generally smooth, refined and very quiet.
Performance
Not bad, but it's a big, heavy machine.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Superb. Never not started.
Image
I work for myself and would destroy my business if I ran a flashy car - this is just the ticket (Volvos have the advantage of being a good car without telling everyone how much you're making).
Comfort
The seats are adjustable in every way, combined with the heated seats in the winter and air-con in the summer it's a nice place to be.

Security and Service
Security
No one had ever broken in, but I doubt they would get far.
Service
Harratts Volvo, Wakefield were top notch. Helpful when I first bought the car (and experienced some problems) they took me through it all, and explained every bit.

Problems and Ownership

No problems at all.
