Volvo 850 Saloon 2.5 CD (170bhp) 4d (1996/N) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Large car, luxury travel for not much money - excellent value.
Costs
Not too bad, but when a unusual item goes wrong, prices go very high.

On the road
Driving
Great! Hundreds of miles in a day is no problem!
Performance
Most excellent, easily cruised at 127mph with 3 people and full of luggage at 27mpg. Great 20v 2.5 engine.

Living with it
Reliability
Need to make sure it is serviced on time, then should be OK.
Image
The 850 picked up Volvo by the scruff of its neck. Remember the Touring Cars with the 850's? Rickard Rydell etc?
Comfort
I still cannot find a non Volvo that is as comfortable. High miles in a day no problem! Passenger or driver, nobody complains.

Security and Service
Security
Alarm, deadlocks, glass break censors etc. Not knowingly tested.
Service
Lovely Courtesy Cars, all new. Main dealer is great, friendly and helpful.
