Volvo 850 Saloon 2.5 GLE (140bhp) 4d Auto (1995/M) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Lots of car for the £'s... but you're buying quality rather than toys (although you do get the toys as well).
Costs
Parts are typically Volvo (£200 for the fluid to change the autop box... buy elsewhere for £50).

On the road
Driving
Good to drive and very relaxing, but don't expect a sportscar. It's a traditional Grand Tourer really. You can drive to the south of France in it... or leave a XR2 standing at the lughts if you really want to.
Performance
Good, but not as good as my 940turbo... but more than adequate. Engine a bit shrill if you're really going to get on with it...

Living with it
Reliability
Fine so far.
Image
BRILL. You're invisible on the road... not for you if you want to stand out, but if what you want is for the motorway police not to notice you...
Comfort
YES.
-
Security and Service
Security
Adequate. Alarm is simplistic, but seems effective... anyway, not the theives' choice.
Service
Dealers are excellent... but you PAY for it.
