What does this car say about you?
I like something different to the norm and I know a lot of car for my money when I see one. People don't like being overtaken by a square 15 year old Volvo.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
Earlier problems tainted some views of it but most people like it. The engine suprises people when they think its a boring Volvo and then it roars off.
Would you buy this car again and why?
Maybe, but I'd have looked for one which required less work initially!
What are you likely to buy next?
A Volvo V50.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
The engine note is fantastic! One of the best sounding cars I've ever heard. Sounds great setting off in first gear up to 30mph has a proper roar to it that makes people look then turn away when they realise its a Volvo and not a sports car! It handles well for a big car, but it does tend to plough on around very tight bends especially in the wet. Got to be careful of wheel spin too.
What's it like to park?
Turning circle isn't great but ok for a big front wheel drive car.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Spent quite a bit in the first year of ownership: Anti-roll bar snapped which apparently is very rare which cost me about £250 to get fixed. Water expansion tank split, cv gaiter split and various other little niggles, even the dip stick broke! However been mostly ok since, good for a 15 year old car and worth the investment.
What's most practical about your car?
Seats five in comfort and a sizeable boot but access isn't as good as some. Has no problems going up hills with five onboard.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Leather seats! Although they can get quite cold/hot depending on the weather. I like the electric sunroof as it has an inbuilt automatic wind deflector which pops up which is pretty cool.
