Volvo 940 Estate 2.3 SE 5d (LPT) (1994/M) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
Worst car I ever owned. I've owned reliable Volvos for 25 years, except for this one.
Costs
High costs of repairs. Luckily warranty covered most, but what happens next?
-
On the road
Driving
Uncomfortable to drive, as steering has never been right.
Performance
Shifts if you need to, but drinks fuel.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Nearly every major component change would hate to see the warranty cost on this car. I estimate over £5000 worth of warranty work. Poor for a Volvo.
Image
I've had Volvos of every model up to year 2000, so I'm comfortable with the image.
Comfort
Hard seating compared with other models.
-
Security and Service
Security
As safe as any estate can get.
Service
Dealer fixed most of the problems eventually, but as with most cars the manufacturer only wants to sell it not fix it.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
No problems.
Other
Brakes( twice), gearbox, clutch, aircon, exhaust, steering column, steering rack, bushes, all shocks etc.
