Expectations were simple, that was for safe reliable transport and over 8000 miles and 8 months to date that is exactly what I’ve got. I picked my model carefully, went for the Mazda L series engine straight out of the MK2 Focus in its 2 litre form, no cam belt, proven reliability - manual gearbox, S trim with heated seats as an option on this model. Passed the first MOT by me without advisories last week - quiet, comfortable, smooth, well built and incredibly thirsty - 36mpg on a run, truly awful but without a penny spent on repairs unlike all my previous cars I’m quids in
