What does this car say about you?

As I don't see many of the D5's in white with the R-Design kit I would say that I like to stand out as an individual, I like performance but also want the reliability and solidness of a Volvo so although I can be reckless I like to have safety to fall back on.

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Everyone who sees it thinks it is a lovely looking car and the fact that my hubby loves detailing makes it all the nicer as it is always bright white.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Yes. All round great car, ideal for me and suits me perfectly.

What are you likely to buy next?

No idea, I would like to keep the D5 as a daily and buy a Jap toy, 200sx, Supra or something along those lines.

Did you get a good deal and why?

About average but was prepared to miss out on a deal as this was the specific car I wanted.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Yes, I had a Mini Cooper S and although I was fond of it the fuel costs were becoming unreasonable so I wanted a more economical car but one that still had some power. I have liked the C30 since they were manufactured and I only wanted a white D5 R-Design manual so when this came up for sale I figured it was fate.

What was the dealer like?

Very good, but their mechanics need a little more training!

What's it like to drive?

Brilliant! I love it. As you can imagine it is a lot bigger than a Mini which was my previous car. Despite being larger it still handles really well, I was surprised how well it corners. The D5 is a great engine. Lots of grunt and makes a good noise considering it is a diesel engine.

What's it like to park?

Quite good, good all round visibility.Easy to park even for a short person like me.

Have you had any problems with the car?

I love the car but when I first got it for a 2.4 turbo it seemed very lazy in the lower gears. I then noticed a message on the dash and on looking this up on the internet as well as a lot of other potential problems one was that it was over full of oil. After draining about half the engine oil and some normal driving the message disappeared and the car performed much better.

What's most practical about your car?

During normal driving it is quite economical but also has the power when needed.

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

I really like the little digital compass in the rear view mirror and LOVE the heated seats.
