Economy
Value
Great used bargain. GT is what is says, a great cruiser. Lots of toys for your money although the electric seats are a pain if you constantly carry passengers.
Costs
Reasonable costs, although MPG is a downer. I get approx 26mpg which at over a pound a litre can turn out to be expensive.

On the road
Driving
Great for long distances, bit barge like and a huge turning circle.
Performance
Could be better, you wonder where the 240 horses are, mine is chipped to 300bph but still feels a tad slow. Great gearbox.

Living with it
Reliability
Extremely reliable, only time it has ever broken down in 2 years of ownership is when the battery died. Beware of ETM failures on models between 1998 and 2001. This is a big defect and is costly.
Image
Looks stunning! Volvo has taken a deserved hammering lately for some shoddy build / design quality. But looks wise the car is a beat.
Comfort
Alacanttera leather, 11 speaker Dolby surround sound etc etc. The best sound system I have ever heard in a car. CD player doesn't like copied CDs so you'll have to use originals and hope they don't get scratched.

Security and Service
Security
Standard alarm and immobiliser. Never been broken into.
Service
Never used Volvo, service history isn't as important as it used to be and it's cheaper to use an independent who knows more about the model than the manufacturer.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
ETM is on it's way, a lovely £600 bill. That's it.
Other
Steering stops make a noise if not greased. Heater matrix is prone to breaking.
