Buying experience

Independent
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£1,400
When did you buy the car?
June 2011
Did you get a good deal and why?
Yes - because I paid a good price and the car was in fairly good condition. No - because it didn't come with any remote key fobs and I had not been told that. I realised when I stopped for petrol on my way home.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I didn't know that there was a T4 S40 but when I found out I wanted one.
What was the dealer like?
Very friendly, but I felt they should have told me about the missing remote fobs. I felt that they went out of their way to make sure I didn't find out - they even started the car for me when I picked it up, I think so that I didn't realise. It cost £200 to get two replacement ones from Volvo.

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
A few minor things but nothing that has caused me any particular problems - minor oil leak, occasionally doesn't idle evenly, sometimes stutters when turbo kicks in.
What's most practical about your car?
Boot space and space when seats folded down. Has seatbelt-type thing in the boot which is very handy for stopping things moving around.

Trip computer.
