Volvo S60 2.0T SE 4d (00) (2001/Y) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Compared to Audi and BMW, it's good value all round.
Costs
About what I'd expect. Only used 1 pair of front tyres in 42,000 miles.
-
On the road
Driving
Fast and sure-footed around bends. No roll, sports seats are very comfortable and supportive.
Performance
Rapid enough, especially on motorways. 2nd gear seems too tall.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Rattles, repalcement gearbox, faulty central locking on both front doors, snapped rubber mounting ring on rear suspension.
Image
It's been getting better with 850/V70. S60 is a big step in the right direction.
Comfort
Supreme. I regularly do long miles and hours with zero discomfort. Cruise and Sports seats are perfect.
-
Security and Service
Security
Reliable alarm with optional tilt detection to protect against jacking car up for alloys. No false alarms.
Service
Depends on dealer. Current one is very good.
