What does this car say about you?

Im 22 and i bought and I finally bought a Volvo (I'm a Volvo fan).

What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?

Mum thinks the car is gorgeous, Dad says its posh and my stepfather is actually quite jealous that I got a better car than him, but it also reminds him of his old 240 so he likes it a lot. Neighbours like it and the whole village like it. My friends really like it and get quite a surprise when they realise how fast it really is.

Would you buy this car again and why?

Oh yes definitely. Its the car i've been after for many years and I would buy another one just for the fact they got a great blend of everything.

What are you likely to buy next?

I love my car so much i'll probably keep it at least 5 years. Mind you an S60R would be nice, or if I save up for the next 20 years, maybe a S60 polestar.

Did you get a good deal and why?

Oh yes I got a good deal, its only done 66,000 miles, with a full service history, extremely well looked after. All for a mere £1500.

Is there any special reason why you bought this car?

Yes i wanted a very comfortable car with good power, and the Volvo had all of it.

What was the dealer like?

He wasn't a dealer. He was a nice old man who unfortunately couldn't drive anymore. It was sad to hear and he didn't want the car sat on his driveway doing nothing. But he was a really honest chap.

What's it like to drive?

It goes like a train, its amazing how quick the car is with 250bhp under the bonnet. The automatic gearbox is silky smooth and thankfully a 5 speed which benefits for cruising speeds. I just like cruising along at 60mph and the car doesn't even break a sweat doing so. Its ever so quiet on a cruise, 60mph at 1700-1800rpm and achieving an average of 35-40mpg is not bad for a 2.3 5 cylinder turbo. The handling is responsive, yet very comfortable, its quite similar to my old Rover 25 in handling terms.

What's it like to park?

Well its more of a challenge compared to my previous three cars, luckily the wing mirrors are quite wide so I got good viewing angles, but the boot is low and difficult to figure out how close to an object it is.

Have you had any problems with the car?

Actually it has got a couple of gremlins, first the boot will open about 90% of the time, then 10% of the time it doesn't want to open. And on the odd occasion I get a "check brake light" warning which flashes for a millisecond and then goes off. Other than that the car is a gem.

What's most practical about your car?

Its a saloon, but the boot is HUGE! It even comes with a fold up barrier and built in straps to stop items rolling around, and of course the seats fold down making it as practical as an estate (in length terms).

Favourite gadget, option or accessory?

For the first time ever, I got a car that comes with proper cupholders, but I have three of them all in one place pretty much. So thats one gadget I love. The seats are so comfortable I would probably have a good nights rest on them. Its got A/C (which works) and heated seats, but I haven't used them. (I prefer having the windows down) The only thing I sort of wish the car had was the optional rear parking sensors, but its still luxurious no matter what.
