Economy
Value
Pathetic residual value. Great second hand buy though.
Costs
Again very poor reliability. New radiator, brake servo, air con regassed (twice), new top engine mount, ECU re-programmed re erratic cold start & steering wheel column re-fitted.

On the road
Driving
Ride & handling very poor due to very firm suspension.
Performance
Adequate. Vague steering. Impressive straight-line acceleration but does not actually feel that fast. Hates corners. Chassis set up is mediocre. Auto box frustrating, unable to provide right cog when under demand.

Living with it
Reliability
Please see costs. Best purchased with a Volvo warranty.
Image
What image. T5 or not, every idiot with at least 60bhp wants to overtake you.
Comfort
Hugh refinement. Very comfortable and safe seats for long distance driving. Town driving bearable due to harsh ride.

Security and Service
Security
Not tested. Factory alarm and immobiliser. Besides, T5's existence is actually an anonymous affair, even to other Volvo drivers.
Service
Very polite & courteous but oh so very, very expensive.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Raucous under hard acceleration yet smooth. Still chugging away.
Other
Volvo missed a good opportunity in terms of chassis dynamics when they built the S60. Still, it's an agreeable mode of transport.
