Economy
Value
If you compare with other 'family' cars in the same range, it's rather fair priced. If you compare with BMW or Mercedes, you will have more fun driving the Volvo due to its price.
Costs
It's not cheap to buy nor to own, but in comparison with the German cars, it's not that expensive...

On the road
Driving
The car handles ok, but it's not up to my expectations. The dampers and springs are too soft for active driving. The steering is not as direct as it could be, but if you aren't 'Collin MacRae', it's ok.
Performance
How about 250bhp and 330Nm... My car does 0-60 in 6.2sec, compared with standard 7.0sec. The brakes are working fine, even after driving a couple of laps at the race track. Not bad for a family car.

Living with it
Reliability
As long as you don't push the car to its maximum all the time, you will not have any problems. A lot of the components are from the S/V70 - that means great relibility. You will not be disappointed.

Rather sporty looks, along with the new design, makes it a nice car to look at. All of this is baked in with the well known Volvo safety. Nice work Volvo!
Comfort
The car is quiet inside, thanks to a lot of sound paddings. The comfort is great, even with 18" wheels, unless you drive on gravel roads... But the backseat is for children only.

Security
Ok. It didn't get 5 stars at the NCAP testings, but I promise you that the 6 airbags will make it safe for you. The anti-theft system is great - it's got a motion sensor inside the car. Nice!
Service
I live in Sweden and I really hope that the Volvo dealers are nicer in the UK. If you don't have a suit on, then you will not be looked at when entering the sales department in Köping, Sweden.
