Volvo S60 Saloon (2019 - 2023) Inscription Plus T5 FWD auto 4d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
This car came pre-specced with lots of additional extras such as adaptive cruise control, a 360 degrees parking camera, blind spot warning and active park assist as well as an automatic sunroof and keyless entry. The car was pre-registered with just delivery miles on the clock so there is no way of specifying it.
So obviously there are some things that I would have liked to seen on this vehicle that were not included. One feature that you have to specify is fold down rear seats which comes as part of a pack, appalling really for a car valued at about £40k. Another feature that needs to be paid for (£300) is Apple Car Play, which comes as standard on most of the cars of this class. This is a serious omission on Volvo's part, some might say cynical money-grabbing. A final pre-spec was lowered suspension which makes the rise a tad firmer than my old Volvo S90, but the handling of the car, especially around corners more than makes up for this.
This was one of the last T5 petrol engined models sold. These have given way to a new mild-hybrid engine which should give better economy. Certainly compared to my previous Volvo which came with a 2.0 D4 diesel unit, the T5 is quite greedy when it comes to fuel consumption. Overall then I am very happy with this car, the specification levels are such that I can forgive the things that are missing. The drive and handling are very good and the comfort levels in the cabin as well as the amount of space for rear passengers should make this car a serious contender if one is considering a BMW, Mercedes or Audi in the same class. Given that these three brands are no longer a rarity on the roads, I have found that the Volvo saloons introduced in the past few years really do turn people's heads.
