Volvo S60 Saloon (2019 - 2023) R-Design Plus T5 FWD auto 4d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The car has supremely comfortable seats and class leading rear seat room and ease of access. It is smooth to drive but is not the ultimate driving machine if you want to race along twisty B roads but these can be dispatched quickly anyway. My car is on 19" wheels which occasionally get caught out by large potholes but I disagree with magazine review that it otherwise does not ride well. It rides as well as my XF did. It has a spare wheel well for a space saver which some others do not which means the boot is fully usable if you want to carry a spare. The two aspect that I find poor. The pathetic reversing lights, they are not bright enough, and eco mode seems to switch off the aircon which means on a wet day the windows start to mist up. Fuel economy is reasonable and on a long cruising run 40mpg can be achieved in normal or eco mode. Overall a well built and equipped car which meets my needs and allows me to carry elderly people in the rear without shoehorning them in through the opening as a Mercedes C would require.
Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
The car is said on tests to be a competitor to BMW 3 series, Mercedes C class, Alfa Giulia and Jaguar XE but it is significantly more roomy in the back and is as roomy as my previous Jaguar XF. This is underplayed by reviewers but is important in my mind as the others in particular the C Class and XE are very tight to get ina d to sit in the rear unless the driver sits tight to the roof/windscreen junction. That worries me if I was involved in a crash. The performance is not quite up to the Guilia and BMW 330 levels but is more than adequate. The launch edition I have also is extremely well equipped compared to the rivals in tests. As a car to drive everyday rather the best B road machine it excells.About their car
