Volvo S70 2.3 T5 CD 4d (1997/P) Owner Review
-
Economy
Value
I paid £6300 for my car, but it has only had one owner and currently has 55k miles on with full Volvo service history.
Costs
Service costs are ok. Petrol is the main expense, but you don't buy this type of vehicle for fuel economy. Tyre costs can be high.

On the road
Driving
Driving this car is an excellent experience. From startup you get to hear the 5 pot burble that the 2.3i 20v engine makes. On the move, the turbo whistle makes you want to accelerate more and more. The power is endless.
Performance
240bhp as standard and will plod on past 150mph effortlessly. 0-60 in about 6.7secs.

Living with it
Reliability
Touch wood, but has never let me down yet.
Image
Not considered as one of the best looking vehicles, but I like it so that's all that matters.
Comfort
All leather in the CD option is great. Very comfortable, cruise control is great on motorway. Numerous ways to alter the seats make driving more comfortable. Reach and rake steering wheel adjustment, too.

Security and Service
Security
Thatcham 1 approved alarm as standard on T5s and R. Volvo Guard.
Service
Volvo in my area are very helpful.

Reverse light switch on gearbox went, which meant my reverse lights were intermittent. This was fixed for £10 and fitted by myself with ease.
