Economy
Value
Good value when bought second-hand, but depreciation now starting to hit as car ages.
Costs
Local main dealer servicing costs very good, although some parts can be expensive. Economical if right foot 'restrained'.
-
On the road
Driving
Very good for an estate, but doesn't like bumps.
Performance
Fast enough for most and as good or better than similarly-aged and specified competition.
-
Living with it
Reliability
Absolutely no problems in four years of ownership.
Image
It's a Volvo! Although one of the best looking lifestyle estates until recently.
Comfort
Excellent. Happily drive 95 miles each way to client site 5 days a week some weeks and feel as good getting out at the end as getting in at the start.
-
Security and Service
Security
Standard alarm, immobiliser and deadlocks more than adequate as Volvo not the first choice for joyriders.
Service
Cannot fault service received from local dealer.
-
Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
Other
Bulb replacement more frequent than desirable due to daylight running lights.
