Volvo V50 (2004 - 2012) 2.0D SE 5d (Euro 4) Owner Review

The car has been in the extended family since new so I know the history. It spent most of the first few years parked in the garage and therefore only averaged about 2,000 - 4,000 per year. It had a start problem in it's second year of oner ship which was covered by the warrenty but the issue returned just outside warrenty which turned out to solder joints not being soldered on the main circut board. Initially the Volvo garage refused to cover the repair but after some discussion they finally agreed that the fault should have been picked up when it was in for the start up fault when it was under warrenty. The first 10 years it was serviced by Volvo and every year since but not by Volvo. Apart from the usual service parts the only major fault was the fuel pump failed and there has been a leak which I understand from othe owners was probably to due with the roof rails. The car was been very reliable (touch wood), if not for the high price of a second hand Volvo I did consider purchasing another volvo.
