Economy
Costs
I have had a bit of expense with the car. The discs needed changing all round as they were warped. Check when buying. I also had a cambelt snap at 60,000 miles - this is a must if you buy one of these.

On the road
Driving
The car is excellent to drive. It sits firm on the road and handles excellently.
Performance
Taking into account that the car is large and heavy, the performance is excellent. I have had it to Europe 3 years in a row, fully packed, getting about 46mpg.

Living with it
Image
Pretty good. No small problems, but I had a cambelt snap at 60,000 miles. Volvo recommend 80,000. I say get it changed when you buy if it hasn't been changed.
Comfort
Very comfortable. Firm ride compared to some cars, though.

Security and Service
Security
Comes standard with alarm and immobiliser.
Service
When the belt snapped, Volvo and the dealer paid 50% because the car had a FSH.
