Volvo V70 2.5T SE 5d (1998/R) Owner Review

Economy
Value
Good value as I bought a high miler with full service history. These cars can really run to high miles if well serviced.
Costs
Not bad at all. I find the running costs suprisingly low, I am averaging about 29 miles to the gallon on a turbocharged 2.5 - that is good in my book!

On the road
Driving
A very competent handler for such a large car. Swift acceleration, smooth and quiet. Handling seems better than my old 850 T5.
Performance
Good strong engine turbo gives the boost for overtaking when needed without resorting to thrashing the engine. Great on motorways or long runs the engine is very smooth and quiet. Gearbox could be better, I find it a bit stiff.

Living with it
Reliability
So far nothing has gone wrong (touch wood!)
Image
The best image for a family car in this sector. I think Volvo make the best looking and most practical family estate cars. Mine looks especially mean with the T5 alloys and boot spoiler.
Comfort
Very comfortable car. Mine has most of the features you would require from a family car. Child booster is brilliant, I think it could do with a full on front armrest though, and Volvo where are the cupholders?!

Security and Service
Security
Security seems very good. Alarm arms itself if you forget to lock it and any attempts to get in to the car results in the alarm sounding suprise suprise!
Service
Volvo service very helpful and quite reasonable considering the quality of car.
