Volvo V70 2.3 T5 SE 5d (2002/02) Owner Review

-
Economy
Value
Lots of equipment as standard, and all feels like quality.
Costs
Car is two years old, only one problem with electric door lock (so far).
-
On the road
Driving
Firm responsive. Turning circle is poor compared to previous 850 model. Very easy especially on motorways.
Performance
Can put the power down very fast, though sometimes there can be a distinct lag on the turbo. When the power comes on really fast there can be a disturbing feel on the steering wheel for the first few seconds.

Living with it
Reliability
No problems (yet).
Image
I think its terribly underrated (but perhaps I'm biased) For such a big car it has a visual elegance equally comparable with BMW or Mercedes. I love the sleek nose sweeping through between the headlights.
Comfort
Extremely comfortable - distinctly executive feel throughout. Sometimes difficult to realise that you are doing a high speed. Wind noise and other noises almost inaudible.

Security and Service
Security
Seems to be good. Locking remote seems to function from a fair distance.
Service
Extremely pleasant and efficient - though not cheap.

Problems and Ownership
Problems
Engine
None.
Other
Electric door lock motor replaced under warranty, very quickly and efficiently.
