Dont care about the old man image, if I want performance, this car will deliver it and its very practical for my work
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
No one has refused to get in it
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes and no, I have done about 30K miles in this one, now at 120K. I love it, but am slightly concerned that it has had so many problems, my other Volvos had excellent reliability, most I drove to 200K before trading in.
What are you likely to buy next?
My accountant says I should buy a Van - He must be mad!! Would probably go for a diesel or 4WD next time

Paid a little over the odds for it, but have always had good help and support from dealer in the past

Needed to replace my old worn out 740

Excellent, I have bought many vehicles from Phil Lawden (Peel Common Motors, Fareham) in the past and have only praise for the service he has given me.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
Excellent. This car is very much a working vehicle (Van with windows), comfortable for long journeys, very stress free and sporty if required (hang on to the steering wheel though)! Excellent around town in traffic or cruising on the motorway. Average 27 - 29 to the gallon. This is undoubtedly the nicest Volvo I have had to drive.
What's it like to park?
Grim, poor steering lock, difficult to judge distance to bonnet, always seem to pull up short..

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
Not as good as the older generation of volvos, ACU pump, Alternator, Power steering pump noisy, Rear wheel bearing, ABS sensor intermittant, front void bushes. Watch the alloys on pot holled roads!!! Took 2 out and tyres in one week!
What's most practical about your car?
Loads of room, good load carrying capacity (weight). Comfortable for long journeys.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
ACU, cruise control, information display, superb stereo, heated seats, climate control.
