Volvo V70 (2007 - 2016) D5 SE 5d Geartronic Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
I bought the car with 173,000 miles for £2,500 which may seem a lot but I have total faith in the D5 engine to continue for many miles yet with regular maintenance. I got a poor deal from the Stealer as I only got scrap value for my S60 and should have haggled for better deal to cover a new battery and service. I have put another 3,000 miles on it since I bought it so far and I love the rear of the engine as the Geartronic box moves up the gears. I love the manual option of the box as it makes you feel more involved with the driving of the car. The only downside is the running cost. Tax is £305 per year and average mileage doesn't get over 37 mpg even on long runs. Insurance bans is also very high so you need deep pockets. Next time I'd look at the 1.6 or 2.0 litre manual versions for economy but the Geartronic is a relaxing drive. Overall a lovely, practical car to own and I would recommend this version over the earlier V70 models.
How reliable do you find the car?
The only thing I have needed to change so far is the battery.Does the car do everything you expected it to do?
I have owned a P3 Volvo before so I know how good the layout of the instrument cluster is and the many features like cruise control, electric heated seats, bluetooth phone connectivity, dual climate control, 6 CD multi changer and smooth Geartronic box.About their car
