Volvo XC60 (2008 - 2017) D4 (190bhp) R DESIGN Lux Nav 5d Owner Review
Want to know everything there is to know about this car?
In their own words
The car is a lovely all round everyday car with plenty of go when needed if driven right, only a few gripes with some of user interface. one being the long winded and annoying way sport mode is selected, until you become Jedi this can be problematic if you want to overtake in a hurry so i tend to set this up before setting out on any journey or you will find yourself heavily distracted. That said it still has enough to overtake in any other settings so I guess it's just my personal preference to know the car will give everything it have when i want it. Being a sport model I would expect it to either be permanently engaged or be able to just flick a switch as you can on some revals, i would also have liked the car to remember my driver settings in the same way as the seats. The only other gripe would be the hill assist brake and electronic handbrake although the hill assist work i feel it could be 100% better in that it should engage at any gradient other than when on level ground, this would be a big improvement with the manual gear box. as sometimes it don't engage when you expect it too giving you less control over a standard handbrake. same goes for the auto handbrake sometimes when pressing the button after coming to a full stop it hasn't engaged and before you realise the car starts to roll back. The system in general don't give you 100% assurance you are in control of the car at all times. not sure I would buy a car with this kind of setup again without giving it a thorough going over. Apart from that the features of the R-design Lux make this car very comfortable to drive long distance and sporty enough to command your position on the road. A nice addition is the tilt and slid glass roof and heated front seats for those cold spring mornings. Although it could be better with the addition of heated wing mirrors. But I guess if you bought this car new you could have that as an optional extra! When we bought the we went for the front wheel drive option only as we haven't ever needed to drive off road so 4 wheel drive wasn't our priority! I would happily recommend this car, if you're looking for something different from the rhetoric of rivals out there then this is definitely a viable and somewhat refined option to go for!
