Summary
What does this car say about you?
Don't know, don't care.
What do your friends / family / neighbours think of the car?
One congratulated me on joining the Volvo club - he's got an XC60 too. Another asked why I'd bought a Sherman Tank!
Would you buy this car again and why?
Yes, I have no regrets so far.
What are you likely to buy next?
Depends on what's on the market in two year's time. Can't see me switching from a large, high-riding estate, though.

Buying experience
Type of dealer you bought from?
Franchised
Did you buy this car new?
No
What price did you pay?
£25,000
When did you buy the car?
September 2015
Did you get a good deal and why?
Fifteen months old and it was one third cheaper than new. I *think* it was a good deal because I need the car immediately and couldn't wait for a new one.
Is there any special reason why you bought this car?
I wanted something bigger than my Ford C-Max, with a bigger boot in particular. I bought second hand because this particular car was £38k OTR originally, which meant it lost one third of its value in 15 months. Seemed a reasonable offer. It's a 14 plate, this form won't allow me to select 14.
What was the dealer like?
Good. Franchised dealership and absolutely no pressure.

Driving it
What's it like to drive?
It's automatic and the change up the box initially is a little 'lagging'. But apart from that, it's great to dive and extremely comfortable and 'reassuringly' solid. Slightly more body roll than expected and I think I may be using up the front tyres faster than I should because of this - not as nimble as the Ford. 48 mpg, which is better than expected.
What's it like to park?
Better than I feared, still large though. Parking sensors are essential. Beware of some narrow supermarket slots!

Living with it
Have you had any problems with the car?
One of the headlight washers sometimes sticks open - push to close.
What's most practical about your car?
Apart from the excellent forward visibility, the power tailgate is good, so is the keyless entry.
Favourite gadget, option or accessory?
Driver's Assistance Pack - lane departure warming, active cruise control, vehicle and pedestrian hazard warning system. Makes it less dangerous to drive!
