Volvo XC60 SUV Inscription Pro T5 AWD auto 5d Owner Review

In their own words
We wanted a replacement for our Freelander but specifically wanted to go petrol (saw the issues coming) and these were thin on the ground until recently. We were very disappointed with the Discovery Sport and resolved to wait for the new Audi Q5 and Volvo before making a call. In the end the Volvo just won out. Did we make the right decision? Not sure. There is a chronic problem with exhaust expansion/contraction noise that Volvo have been unable to cure so far. Fuel economy is about 70% of the claimed value. The inside edges of the back doors are permanently filthy. Cabin ergonomics could be better and the touch screen is still a work in progress. Voice recognition is erratic at best. The adaptive headlamps take too long to switch to dip, dazzling others. The learning curve for the technology is very steep and will probably defeat many users. The air suspension clatters and thumps over potholes - why the mandatory 20" wheels? Interior noise is higher than the Audi and tyre noise on concrete highway is unacceptable. On the upside, it is surprisingly quick and fun to drive - ignore comments about dead steering, it's fine; very comfortable to sit in, has excellent visibility especially with the 360 cameras, plenty of boot space and back legroom, stylish inside and out with many small touches like the parking ticket holder that show someone has spent quality time on the design. Extras like CarPlay should be included free and why no wireless phone charger? Overall a good car, not a great one but certainly competitive with its peers.
