Volvo XC90 2.0 D5 PowerPulse Inscription AWD 5d Geartronic Owner Review

In their own words
I got my 2016 XC90 inscription D5 top of range with every conceivable extra in October 2016 with 2500 miles. Over 3 years since I’ve owned it it’s only done goal of 25000. Beautiful car, drives lovely, feels very safe, but? The amount of time it’s been in and out of the garage is totally unacceptable especially having paid £55000 for it. Can you imagine taking this car to the garage about 15 miles away for some fault and leaving the car for a few days without a courtesy car being given because ou haven’t booked it in advance? Had a water leak from the glass roof seal car stays in garage for over a week without courtesy car cost me £459 to get it back without being fixed. Then 3 weeks later took it back for 3 days and then they fixed it by replacing the rubber seal and charged me £259 because water leaks are not covered by the warranty??? Other numerous electronic problems also. Just last week it wouldn’t start in my driveway because of some electric steering problem been in garage for 6 days now they think it’s the steering lock sensor or something else and don’t know when I’ll get it back. It’ll cost me £140 for a diagnostic check. If you have one of these cars make sure you take out an extended warranty before it gets to 3 years old, Volvo don’t offer you it themselves nor do the dealership you have to do it yourself through Volvo otherwise you will regret it. Just imagine £55000 paid for a car you’ve only done 23000 miles in over 3 years which is average 7700 per year. Been serviced by dealership every year then why on earth should you constantly be going back 3-4 times per year to get something fixed then having to pay for it???? Total con. Wore to Volvo, phoned them about it they pass the buck to dealership for costs incurred and dealership telling you to get in touch with Volvo total sham. Had a Mitsubishi shogun 2005 for 5 years absolutely no problem whatsoever then a 2010 Toyota landcriuser for 6 years and didn’t even ever change a bulb in them so 100% reliable. My honest advise is if you’re going to pay this much money for a xc90 then be very prepared to have lots of issues with the car to and from the dealership and add insult to injury most of the time you won’t be given a courtesy car because if you for example book your car for a service and need 1 then you have to book the service for the a courtesy car is available but if you’ve got a fault with the car you take it in they won’t give you because it’s not prebooked. Not a happy chap.
